Henrico County School Zone and Redistricting Plans Announced

School redistricting is near and dear to many residents hearts and any time there are proposed changes it can stir up strong emotions and opinions. Henrico County Public Schools will open a new high school and middle school in the fall of 2010. A community based redistricting committee has been formed to coordinate redistricting. The committee presented the initial options recently to the community. Additional community meetings will be held in March and the final recommendations will be presented to the Henrico County School Board on April 23, 2009. Public hearings will be held in May of 2009. Henrico County School Board is scheduled to vote on the new attendance boundaries on May 28, 2009.
